Description
A set of fourteen dessert plates by the renowned English maker Spode, featuring the elegant Gloucester pattern with its delicate floral motifs and scrolled borders. These pieces showcase the refined craftsmanship and timeless appeal that established Spode as a leader in the English pottery tradition during the early 20th century.
Circa 1920, these original period plates were produced at a time when Spode’s classic designs were being embraced by a new generation of homeowners seeking traditional quality.
Fine stone china finished with a smooth glaze, each plate presenting the intricate pattern in a crisp, clean palette. Rooted in the Victorian tradition with a move toward early 20th century restraint, this set embodies the enduring charm and functional beauty of Staffordshire ceramic heritage. -
