Description
This pen and ink from 1920 depicts a Greek mythological scene with a Satyr companioning Pan, who plays the flute to an interested woodland deer. It is rendered in minute detail with an extremely fine-tip pen. It is masterfully crafted and rendered by Female Illustrator Dorothy Lathrop for Walter de la Mare's book Down-adown-derry, London: Constable & Co. Ltd., 1922. The book explores the enchanting world of fairies, witches, and magical creatures.
