Description
Official Bronze Medallion of the 1925 Paris Exposition by Pierre Turin
This striking bronze medallion was created for the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris, the landmark event that gave birth to the term "Art Deco." Designed by renowned French medalist Pierre Turin (1891–1968), the medallion features a radiant female figure draped in flowing fabric, seated atop stylized clouds, offering a basket brimming with blossoms. The reverse is crisply inscribed with the exposition’s full title surrounded by a lush field of carved flowers, contained within an elegant octagonal frame.
Far more than a mere souvenir, this medallion is a finely cast piece of bronze sculpture that captures the artistic ethos of the era—feminine beauty, floral abundance, and stylized classicism expressed in a modern vocabulary. These commemorative medals were produced in limited quantities to mark the grandeur of international exhibitions, and this example remains one of the most celebrated from the Art Deco period.
A collectible object of historical and aesthetic significance, this medallion is ideal for display on a stand, framed presentation, or as part of a serious Art Deco collection. - More Information
