Description
Rare Pair of Odd Fellows Lodge Staffs with Snakes
American, second half of 19th c.
Carved wood, polychrome paint.
Both in great condition retaining original painted surfaces, minor wear.
Provenance: Collection of Robert Horn.
Both Odd Fellows Lodge staffs were found in the mid-west, one in Indiana. The coiled snakes around the tapered staffs with ball finials have both survived in a remarkable state of preservation.
Displayed (at different heights) on custom iron bases.
Dimensions: 64 ½” h, 65 ½” h.
