Description
A distinctive early 19th-century Danish chest of drawers, painted in a soft antique white with warm undertones that enhance its neoclassical character. The top drawer is framed by a beautifully decorated carved strip with geometric and foliate motifs, reflecting the refined craftsmanship of Danish design from this period. Below, two full-length drawers maintain a clean, understated form, each fitted with simple brass handles. The chest rests on solid, gently tapered legs connected by a lower apron decorated with diamond-shaped carvings, adding rhythm and detail. On each side, steel carrying handles remain intact, speaking to its functional origins. Subtle columnar carvings at the upper corners further enrich the design. With its quiet palette, architectural lines, and balanced decoration, this chest blends utility with timeless Scandinavian elegance.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
