Rustic Folk Art / Peasant Stool in Pine and String, Finland 1800's
-
Description
Rustic late 1800s Finnish peasant stool, handcrafted from solid wood with a beautifully aged patina. Originally made with a backrest, this example has been charmingly adapted over time with a sturdy hemp rope handle, adding both character and portability. The seat shows the natural knots, tool marks, and wear typical of genuine rural craftsmanship. One leg has been beautifully repaired, a visible and authentic testament to its long life and continued use. A wonderful piece of Finnish vernacular furniture, perfect as a decorative accent or functional low stool.
