Regency mahogany hunt table, attributed to Gillows, with demi-lune top with a removable centre section revealing a brass cross bar to accommodate the brass decanter arm on casters and hinged flaps above a plain frieze, supported on tapering reeded legs terminating in brass cups and casters. These bear the inscription “LEWTY PATENT” under a crown. James Windeyer Lewty is recorded as a brass founder at 120 Lichfield Street, Birmingham in the early 19th century.

A pair of these tables was made for Broughton Hall by Gillows in 1813. -
