Description
An elegant and finely crafted set of dining chairs, including two armchairs and eight side chairs. Executed in rich solid mahogany and striking crotch-mahogany, each chair exemplifies the refined tradition of American-made historic reproduction furniture by Councill with generous proportions and graceful silhouettes.

The crest rails features a beautifully carved shell-and-scroll motif, above solid, vasiform splats, balloon slip seats, and cabriole front legs, each adorned with complementary shell carvings at the knee and ending in trifid feet.

This suite bears the Councill label, a mark synonymous with high-quality, bench-made furniture produced in Denton, North Carolina during the late 20th century. Known for their historically accurate forms and fine finishes, Councill pieces were often found in traditional home interiors and executive boardrooms.
