Description
Edwardian Classical sterling silver coffee and tea set. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. This set comprises six pieces: Hot water kettle on stand, coffeepot, teapot, creamer, sugar, and waste bowl. Embossed armorial shields (vacant) between twisted flutes. Covers double domed with quatrefoil finials. Handles reeded. Stand has splayed paw supports and heating element has pineapple finial.
Fully marked including maker’s stamp and director’s letter T (1892-1902). All pieces have pattern no. 8445 and order no. 9899 except the kettle and heating element, which have pattern no. 8446, and the stand, which has pattern no. 6446 [sic]. Kettle, heating element, and stand have order no. 8592. Very good condition.
Overall set dimensions: Kettle on stand: H 14.5 x L 10 x W 7 1/4 in. Coffeepot: H 9 1/2 x L 8 1/8 x W 3 7/8 in. Teapot: H 5 3/4 x L 9 3/4 x W 5 in. Creamer: H 3 7/8 x L 6 x W 3 1/4 in. Sugar: H 5 x L 6 7/8 x W 4 in. Waste bowl: H 3 3/8 x L 5 1/4 x W 4 in. Set weight: 136.5 troy ounces.
With: Edwardian Classical sterling silver tea tray. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1910. Oval well with chased vertical leaf-and-dart border and bead-and-reel rim; narrow shoulder and molded rim. Reeded leafing-scroll mounted end handles. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern no. 16496, and director’s letter m. Very good condition.
Tray dimensions: H 2 1/4 x L 29 1/2 x W 19 1/2 in. Tray weight: 182 troy ounces.
