Description
This is a gorgeous example of a Louis XV-style bombe commode. It is finely constructed in bombe form with fine parquetry covering the entire surface. The top is Spanish Brocatelle marble that perfectly follows the sinuous outline of the commode and appears to be original. The cast bronze detailing extends from the front feet to the top and is in good original condition. The hardware appears to be original and is in good condition. The parquetry is striking in its movement and appears to be in overall good condition with a couple of professional restorations as shown in the phots. Commodes of this quality are uncommon, making this a true find. This is the perfect bedroom, living room of even dining room commode--pairing it with great abstract art would make it a show stopper.
