Description
Exceptional early 19th century Gustavian chest of drawers veneered with amaranth, birch, jacaranda and maple. Limestone top, gilt brass fittings, à la greque upper case and sides, front with marquetry symbolising seafaring and commerce with emblems of Mercury's helmet etc. Master work, Stockholm, Sweden ca 1800.
