Description
A very rare late 16th century "Mudejar" coffer, the front, both sides and top intricately painted with Hispano-Moresque designs. The painted reverse side of the lift top
opens to reveal a large compartment fitted with a small side-box with a lidded top. The wrought iron lock-plate and hasp show remains of gilding.
