A beautiful set of six 19th century Directoire style chairs, each crafted in carved wood and resting on elegant sword legs. The square backs are adorned with finely detailed carving, including a central stylized motif framed by intricate borders, reflecting the restrained yet refined aesthetic of the Directoire period. The frames retain an old, later-applied varnish that lends a soft, time-worn surface while allowing the carved details to stand out. Well-proportioned and sturdy, these chairs have been newly upholstered in a neutral fabric, making them ready for use at a dining table or as stylish accent seating. A rare and cohesive set that combines historical charm with everyday functionality.
