Description
A fine Austrian Biedermeier period chest of drawers from Austria circa 1830. The gorgeous mahogany timber used to sheathe the entire surface of this antique chest is particularly luminous with its distinctive grain pattern. Please note how the vertical band of fruitwood that frames the two drawers gives the chest a rather contemporary effect. The four tapered legs that elevate the body of the chest give the diamond shaped escutcheons (lock covers) their consistent design. Perfectly sized for a bedside or sofa placement in an interior.
