Description
This striking Art Deco Machine Age floor lamp, crafted in America circa 1935, is an exemplar of the era’s bold industrial aesthetics and innovative functionality. Featuring polished chrome construction combined with a scalloped gilt metal mesh shade, this lamp captures the streamlined elegance and cutting-edge design ethos of the early 20th century.
The frame is composed of gleaming polished chrome, which reflects the Machine Age's fascination with modern materials and finishes. The articulating fittings allow it to be adjusted for tailored lighting positions while exemplifying the era's focus on functional and aesthetic harmony.
Enhancing the design further is the scalloped metal mesh shade, which adds warmth and a touch of luxury to the lamp. The delicate mesh construction is both decorative and functional, diffusing light elegantly and creating a play of texture and patterns. The scalloped edges evoke subtle Art Deco motifs, adding refinement to its industrial form.
Perfect for use in living rooms, offices, or reading areas, this lamp offers both practicality and artistic appeal. As a collectible piece of Machine Age design, its combination of polished chrome and gilt metal mesh makes it a timeless symbol of early modernist innovation, embodying the sophistication and utility that defined Art Deco furniture and decor. Newly rewired to American Standards, this lamp accommodates one edison base bulb achieving up to 100 watts of light. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
