Set of 4 Thonet chairs, Model 209, manufactured by Ligna 1960
-
Description
Set of four original Michael Thonet Model 209 chairs manufactured by Ligna around 1960. Each chair features a steam-bent beechwood frame with elegant, continuous curves and a handwoven cane seat. Designed after Michael Thonet’s original concept, the Model 209 exemplifies the lightness, strength, and refined craftsmanship of bentwood furniture. The chairs retain their original Ligna manufacturer tags, confirming authenticity and origin. Displaying a warm patina consistent with age and use, they maintain their vintage character and structural integrity. Ideal for dining, office, or accent seating in both modern and classic interiors. A fine example of mid-century European design and Thonet’s timeless influence. All chairs are in very good original condition with minor wear appropriate to age and gentle daily use.
