Chinese Export, Ebonized Wood, Mother-of-Pearl, Center Table, China, 1900
A beautifully crafted black lacquer and mother-of-pearl inlaid Chinese antique tilt-top table, dating from China circa 1900 (late Qing Dynasty). This example features a circular, scalloped-edge top mounted on a folding/tilting tripod stand. The table top has a wonderful scene featuring a large pheasant, smaller bird, chrysanthemums, peonies, and other garden flowers; all done in a mother-of-pearl inlay.
