Description
An iconic minimalist Bauhaus-inspired wall clock and timer from the 1950s, designed by Max Bill and manufactured by Junghans, Germany. This beautiful and charming wall clock features an oval white ceramic case and the characteristically Max Bill clock face — clean, elegant, and perfectly balanced, with beautifully designed numerals. It is fully functional and powered by a battery-operated movement, compatible with a standard battery. The clock is in excellent condition.
Max Bill (1908–1994) was a Swiss architect, artist, and designer and is regarded as one of the key figures of Concrete Art and Modernist design. Educated at the Bauhaus, he combined art, graphic design, typography, and architecture into a clear and functional visual language. He also played an important role in shaping the Ulm School of Design (HfG Ulm).
Alongside designers such as Dieter Rams, Otl Aicher, Le Corbusier, Josef Müller-Brockmann, Walter Gropius, Mies van der Rohe, Hans Gugelot, and Gerrit Rietveld, Max Bill stands for timeless, rational design and is considered a central figure of Swiss Design. -
