Description
An elegant coffee table designed attributed to Alain Delon (French, 1935–2024) for the renowned Parisian furniture house Maison Jansen. The table features a rectangular shape with a stepped design that descends towards the center. Each step is crafted from a different metal, giving the design a subtle yet striking interplay of materials. The outer frame, finished in a blue-gray tone, provides an elegant touch and emphasizes the timeless aesthetic of the piece. Delon's impeccable sense of style, which inspired him to venture into furniture design in the 1970s, is vividly reflected in this piece.
His smoldering gaze, chiseled features, and iconic roles in films like The Leopard and Le Samouraï made Alain Delon an international symbol of French sophistication in the 1960s. Surprisingly, Delon brought his refined sense of style to furniture design in the 1970s, creating a series of pieces for Maison Jansen, founded in 1880 by Dutchman Jean-Henri Jansen. - More Information
