Description
An authentic Swedish Rococo chair manufactured in Stockholm circa 1760. This period example retains its original painted surface, carefully scraped back to reveal the early finish with a softly aged patina, visible wear, and surface variation consistent with 18th-century use.
The chair features a gracefully shaped back with a sculptural splat, flowing seat rail, and cabriole legs, all hallmarks of Rococo design in Sweden during the mid-18th century. The proportions are elegant and well balanced, reflecting the high level of craftsmanship associated with Stockholm workshops of the period.
The seat has been newly upholstered in natural linen, offering a clean and restrained contrast to the historic surface while providing comfort for contemporary use. Structurally sound and visually refined, this chair works equally well as a standalone accent piece or incorporated into a period or curated interior with Scandinavian character and historical integrity.
