A refined pair of French Louis XVI bergères dating to circa 1780, exemplifying the elegance and restraint of late 18th-century neoclassical design. The chairs feature tall, rounded backs and generously proportioned seats, offering both comfort and architectural presence. The carved wooden frames are defined by clean lines and subtle classical detailing, including fluted legs and restrained moldings consistent with the Louis XVI period.

The frames retain a light-toned painted finish with an attractive, softly aged patina that enhances their historical character. The bergères have been reupholstered in a muted checked fabric, which complements the form without overpowering it and allows the structure of the chairs to remain the focal point. Loose seat cushions add to their comfort while respecting the original silhouette.
