Description
ROBERT HAUSSMANN MODEL RH 302 CHROME AND UPHOLSTERED LOUNGE CHAIR
Designed in 1954-56, probably for Hans Kaufeld or possibly for De Sede (unmarked) | Of remarkable quality | one other matching example may be available
Item # 209PWV27A-2
An incredibly sleek and carefully conceived chair, the RH-302 by Robert Haussmann features a solid chromed steel flat-bar frame with thoughtfully machined joinery that is designed to hold each of the individual upholstered cushions in place simply by using light pressure between each of the elements. All cushions are gently squeezed together to create the structure of the seat, but at the same time they are easily removed. A very clever design. The chair features the solid wooden base (as opposed to the wooden frame with strapping on other variations) and the thin blackened steel apron. Unusually comfortable and positively gorgeous, the chair remains in excellent overall condition.
Note, we may still have the pair to this chair available for purchase in our inventory. Please contact us or browse our current stock for availability.
Measurements: 30" H x 32" D x 34" W; 19" H to seat
Condition Report: Very good original condition; upholstery remains clean and a very nice presentation with no notable blemishes other than some all-over light fading from sunlight; chrome is in excellent condition with only minor scuffs and no observed pitting; incredibly comfortable and of a very high quality throughout. -
