Description
Seat depth 18.5. Each with an incredibly ribbon carved pierced backwash an oval ribbon medallion above a fluted urn flanked by twisted ribbon. Upholstered seat and square tapered fluted legs and spade feet. Probably made by Gillows of Lancaster.
Provenance ; Christies New York October 16th 1998 sold for 36,800. Pair of armchairs identical sold Parke Bernet Galleries New York 24-26 of October 1946 lot 164. -
