Description
HOLLYWOOD REGENCY EBONIZED OCCASIONAL TABLE
Maison Jansen, unmarked, circa 1970s
18" H x 29 3/4" D x 30 1/4" W
A fine Hollywood Regency era square low table by Maison Jansen, the inset glass top is finished with gold leaf applied to the underside set within an ebonized hardwood surround and framed with a conforming patinated bronze rim. The case rests on tapering square legs with carved giltwood droplets in relief at the top and terminating in tapered brass sabots. The design reflects the iconic firm’s Neoclassical vocabulary while reinterpreting those time-tested designs in modern materials and finishes typical of the 1970s.
Condition: Scuffs to the edges of the table frame, abrasions to the ebonized surface including one large scuff to the frame surrounding the glass top. Minor wear to the glass. A fine presentation, ready to place.
