Description
This exceptionally rare sideboard, designed by Henry Rosengren Hansen and produced by Brande Møbelindustri in Denmark during the 1950s, exemplifies the highest standards of mid-century Scandinavian furniture design. Crafted from high-quality rosewood, the piece highlights refined craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail. Its elongated rectangular form is supported by six slender, tapered legs, which contribute both to the sideboard’s visual lightness and structural stability.
The front is composed of four sliding doors, each featuring Rosengren Hansen’s signature sculpted recessed handles, which enhance the piece’s clean lines while providing ergonomic function. Behind these doors, the interior is intelligently organized to maximize utility. The central compartment includes multiple pull-out trays lined with green felt, ideally suited for storing silverware, documents, or other valuables. Adjustable shelving in the side compartments offers flexible storage options, accommodating a variety of household needs.
The rosewood veneer exhibits a richly expressive grain pattern, marked by deep, warm hues and a natural flow that accentuates the organic beauty of the material. Superior craftsmanship is evident in the precisely mitered edges and seamless joinery, ensuring both aesthetic cohesion and durability.
This sideboard stands as a remarkable example of Danish modern design at its peak, combining elegance, functionality, and lasting quality.
The dimensions measure 240 cm in width, 47 cm in depth, and 80 cm in height (94.5 x 18.5 x 31.5 inches).
