20th Century Pulegoso Murano Glass Vase by Napoleone Martinuzzi, Italy ca. 1920

$ 990
  • Description
    One of a kind 20th century Murano Pulegoso glass vase by Napoleone Martinuzzi from the very early period around 1920. This impressive green/blue Pulegoso Murano glass vase (Italian, from the dialect word pulega, “bubble”) contains numerous bubbles of all sizes, produced by adding bicarbonate of soda, gasoline, or other substances to the melt. The bubbles make the glass semiopaque and give the surface an irregular, stunning looking texture. Pulegoso glass was developed by Napoleone Martinuzzi (1892-1977) on the island of Murano in Italy, in the 1920s and we are proud that we can offer you one of the very early examples of this absolutely gorgeous glass art vase.
