“Ripples” Bench by Toyo Ito (b. 1941) for Horm, Italy, designed in 2003

Bench crafted from a combination of woods, including maple, beech, cherry, and walnut. The eponymous ripple effect flows across the entire surface, forming soft, circular depressions. Toyo Ito, born in Japan in 1941, studied architecture at the University of Tokyo and is regarded as one of the most influential architects of his generation. Designed in collaboration with the Italian company Horm, the piece embodies the minimalist purity of Japanese design combined with Italian craftsmanship.
