Earthenware with yellow crater glaze
12⅞ h × 17⅜ dia in (33 × 44 cm)

Collection of Gertrud and Otto Natzler
A rare monumental example from the Natzlers’ personal collection, combining Gertrud’s exquisitely thin, sculptural form with Otto’s highly sought-after crater glaze.
Among the most celebrated husband-and-wife collaborations in 20th-century ceramics, the Natzlers’ work is held in major museum collections worldwide, including MoMA, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and LACMA.
The bowl is documented in a period photograph of the Natzlers’ studio, shown partially visible alongside Otto and Gertrud.
Combining Otto’s iconic scientific glazes with Gertrud’s thin-walled mastery, executed at a scale that defies expectation.
A museum-quality example, distinguished by scale, provenance, and one of Otto Natzler’s most iconic glaze finishes.
