    Early giltwood bookstand carved as a dove mounted upon an orb, from the late 17th or early 18th century. Book is laid open across the back of the dove's wings, supported by the giltwood scrolled element atop the dove's tails (as shown in the image). The bookstand was most likely created for bible readings in a church.
