Description
A striking Art Deco Machine Age square occasional table, featuring an inlaid black mirror glass top, black lacquer scroll-form supports, and a plinth base with lovely proportions. Designed and crafted in the United States, circa 1935, this piece embodies the sleek elegance and innovative materials characteristic of the Machine Age aesthetic.
The table’s square top, inlaid with black vitrolite glass, exudes sophistication while reflecting the surrounding environment, creating a dynamic interplay of light and reflection. Its scroll-form black lacquered supports add a dramatic sculptural quality, providing both aesthetic appeal and sturdy structural support. The minimalist plinth base grounds the piece in modernist geometric simplicity, completing its streamlined design.
With the sumptuous walnut finish constructing beautifully with the black vitrolite glass and lacquered accents, this piece is cohesive and timeless in its material execution and functional form.
This sophisticated occasional table is a testament to the Art Deco era’s fascination with bold contrasts, clean lines, and innovative craftsmanship. Its materials and form seamlessly blend function with artistry, making it both a functional piece and a statement of timeless elegance.
