Design classic ‚Elda Chair’ with an off-white / creme shell and black leather, from Italy circa 1970.

Manufacturer: Comfort, Italy, 1965 – circa 1975
The Elda Lounge Chair by Joe Colombo is a futuristic masterpiece of the 1960s and a visionary, now timeless design icon.
Fiberglass-reinforced plastic shell with original patina and some cracks. 360-degree swivel base.
Polyurethane foam tubes covered in soft black leather provide excellent seating comfort. Reupholstered.
This piece is an early original from the first generation, manufactured by Comfort in Meda, Italy.

In the 1960s, the Italian manufacturer Comfort, based in Meda near Milan, produced several designs by Joe Colombo, including the Elda and Supercomfort plastic lounge chairs. Later, starting in 2007, the company Fratelli Longhi continued Comfort’s tradition and produced Colombo’s Elda and Astrea lounge chairs (both designed in 1963). -
