Description
Pair of Matching Czech Art Deco Decanters in the Style of Karl Palda, Czechoslovakia 1920s
A rare and highly desirable pair of matching Czech Art Deco decanters in the style of Karl Palda, produced in Czechoslovakia during the 1920s. It is exceptionally unusual to find an original matching pair of this scale and design, particularly in such pristine condition. The faceted crystal bodies are sharply cut, capturing and refracting light with strong architectural presence. Bold black enamel geometric motifs accent the clear crystal ground, creating the striking contrast associated with Palda era Bohemian glass.
While certainly of the Karl Palda period and design vocabulary, these decanters display distinctive details within the enamel work and cutting patterns that set them apart from standard production examples. The precision of the enamel application and the balance of form demonstrate a refined understanding of modernist geometry. Together, the pair presents a powerful decorative statement, embodying the elegance and machine age sophistication that defined Czech Art Deco glass between the wars.
Both decanters remain in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or restoration. The enamel decoration is strong. Finding one example is uncommon. Finding a matching pair in this condition is exceptional. - More Information
