Antique Extendable Dining Table, France, 1900s

$ 5,900
  • Description
    This antique extendable dining table (282 cm), produced in France during the 1900s, is distinguished by its expressive turned base with barley twist legs and stretchers, a feature rooted in earlier decorative traditions yet widely appreciated in provincial furniture of the period. The solid wood top, enriched with a geometric parquetry pattern, reveals careful craftsmanship. The surface bears signs of age consistent with prolonged use, contributing to its authenticity and material depth.

    The table reflects the enduring influence of French regional workshops, where historical motifs were often reinterpreted within practical domestic furniture. The combination of decorative turning and functional design suggests a continuity of traditional woodworking techniques into the 20th century. In its extended form, the table can comfortably accommodate six to eight people. All our rustic furniture has undergone a two-cycle preventive woodworm treatment for long-term care.
