French Art Deco Set of Six Olivewood and Velvet Dining Chairs

A fine grouping of six dining chairs from France, Art Deco period circa 1930, composed of four side chairs and two armchairs. Each chair is constructed of olive wood that displays an exciting variety of grain patterns with upholstery in deep, forest green velvet that remains plush and surrounded by a nailhead trim. They make for a timeless ensemble in a range of decorating styles, referencing the restrained sophistication of Directoire updated with modern streamlining. Carved details in the wood include a reeded outline around the backrests and fluting in the front legs, where the back two legs are sabered. We believe these to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos. Two chair seats have a little more spring than the rest, which are fine and comfortable to continue using as they are.
