Description
Superb example of Italian Mid-Century Modern (MCM) design, likely dating to the 1950s, attributed to La Permanente Mobili Cantù, a renowned manufacturer known for refined craftsmanship, glossy finishes, and sculptural, functional forms.
This bed features a striking bookmatched teak veneer, with symmetrical grain forming a distinctive V-shaped and diamond pattern, a hallmark of high-end Italian cabinetmaking from the period.
Integrated floating nightstands with rounded wooden drawers enhance both function and visual lightness. The marble inlay tops add a sophisticated luxury accent, commonly seen in premium Italian furniture produced in Milan and Cantù.
The drawers showcase dovetail joinery, confirming solid, traditional craftsmanship rather than mass-produced construction.
The distance between the two nightstands is 202 centimetres. The bed is 170 cm wide internally.
The overall atomic, winged silhouette reflects the bold, space-age influence characteristic of 1950s Italian modernism, giving the piece a strong sculptural presence and collectible appeal. -
