Italian Midcentury Modular Wall Unit or Sideboard designed by Dassi, 1960s

$ 8,500
  • Description
    This is an extraordinary example of Mid-Century Modern (MCM) Italian design likely dating from the late 1960s or mid-1970s. It is a modular wall unit characterized by an architectural presence and a multifunctional design.

    The geometric "tile" motif on the upper door and the use of integrated lighting and black slat details strongly suggest a manufacturer like Vittorio Dassi. It is finished with a refined Teak veneer featuring a vertical grain typical of high-end Italian furniture from that era.

    The "Bar" cabinet: the upper right door with the 3D grid pattern often hides a bar cabinet or a compartment for glassware.

    Integrated lighting: the two "eye" or dome-shaped lamps in the central niche are a classic 1970s Space Age touch.

    Mixed textures: the contrast between the warm wood, the black ribbed panels, and the maple interior highlights the "techno-chic" influence of the period.
