Description
Designed and produced in Brazil in the 1960s by an unknown maker, this exceptional bar cabinet is a refined expression of Brazilian mid-century modernism, distinguished by its confident material presence and sculptural restraint. Executed in richly veined Brazilian rosewood (jacarandá), the cabinet displays beautifully figured grain throughout, complemented by textured front panels that add depth and tactile sophistication.
Composed of two stacked compartments with softly rounded corners and gently curved edges, the piece presents a balanced, architectural silhouette. The upper section opens to reveal a mirrored and glass-lined interior, ideal for displaying bottles, glassware, and bar accessories. Importantly, the original glass elements are preserved and remain in excellent condition, underscoring the cabinet’s authenticity and careful stewardship over time.
Original hardware and elegantly tapered legs complete the composition, reinforcing its period character and craftsmanship. Both functional and visually commanding, this bar cabinet exemplifies the material intelligence and refined elegance that defined Brazilian modern furniture in the 1960s, making it a compelling focal point within any curated interior. -
