    This renowned artist is highly exhibited and collected by major museums around the world. This amazingly well executed life sized models of women in repose are wall mounted. The clippings on each sculpture are very intentional and well placed. SEE ALL detail images. Can be hung as shown which is how the artist intended OR at any height or position of your liking. Made from wood, wire, newspaper, tape, glue, matte medium, UV matte varnish.

    Provenance: Acquired from the Adrien Arpel estate in Southampton, NY. Last image in this listing shows this artwork hanging in Arpel's home.

    Will Kurtz was born in Flint, Michigan and received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Michigan State University in 1981. He practiced as a landscape architect for 25 years, throughout the United States and Canada. It wasn’t until he was in his mid thirties that he began creating art as a self-taught artist. Eventually his passion for art superseded landscape architecture and he moved to New York at the age of 50 to attend graduate school at the New York Academy of Art. After graduation with an MFA he was selected to remain and do a one-year fellowship. He has since had several solo and group shows is currently represented by Kim Foster Gallery, New York, Avant Gallery, Miami, Galerie Sebastien Adrien in Paris, and Galerie Van Campen & Rochtus, Antwerp, Belgium.. His work is in many prominent collections around the world. He works in Queens, and lives in New York.

    Condition: Good. Wear consistent with age and use. These were made in 2013 and in great vintage condition. Normal minor fading and wear to be expected from age. Very sturdy and easy to move and hang.
