Description
Seated and solid, this 1960s English composite stone dog figure blends folk art simplicity with expressive mass. Bulldogs and pugs were frequent subjects in English garden ornament, admired for their character and approachable humor. Chunky proportions and softened features give the piece a lifelike presence. Cast in concrete, it has developed a weathered patina that enhances its visual weight. Traditionally placed near doorways or paths, such figures acted as informal guardians, more companion than ornament. Wear consistent with age and use. 3"w x 4.5"d x 5.5"h
