Description
Pair of Custom Art Deco Style Tile and Fer Forge Side Tables
This unusual pair of custom side tables brings together vintage decorative tile work and hand forged iron in a way that feels both architectural and highly personal. Each table has a square top inset with richly colored vintage tiles arranged in a flowing geometric pattern. The design has a strong Art Deco spirit, with repeated curves, warm earth tones, and dark outlining that gives the surface depth and movement. The tile tops are especially interesting because they do not feel like ordinary table surfaces. They read almost like small mosaic panels, giving each table a decorative presence even before anything is placed on them.
The bases were custom made by a master fer forge iron maker, using hand worked iron to create a sculptural frame that complements the movement of the tiles. The ironwork has curved side details, crossed supports, and a lower stretcher with a sinuous line that echoes the rhythm of the tile pattern above. This gives the tables a sense of unity between the top and base, rather than simply placing old tiles into a modern frame. The craftsmanship gives the pair a handmade quality and makes them far more interesting than standard occasional tables.
As side tables, they are both functional and decorative. They would work beautifully beside an Art Deco sofa, a pair of club chairs, or as accent pieces in an entry, library, bar room, or sitting area. Their scale makes them easy to place, while the vintage tile surfaces give them character, color, and texture. These are not mass produced pieces, but custom creations made with a strong eye for design, materials, and period feeling. The result is a distinctive pair of tables with warmth, personality, and real visual appeal.
Offered as a single for $1800 or $3600 for the pair. - More Information
