A beautiful and unusual lidded box in glass with a cow on top. Europe, mid 20th century.

Some ordinary things can be painstakingly beautiful, like this mid century glass box. Elegant and whimsical at the same time, this box - presumably a butter tray originally - would be great as a display piece on your shelf and as a practical vide poche or box for small items.
