Description
This is a unique example of an antique, early 20th century Spanish or Renaissance Revival Knole Sofa. This is an uncommon form of knole sofa as it features a carved walnut frame in a late Renaissance style. The silk velvet remains in very good condition and has acquired just the right amount of patina. The drop arms are shown in the down position displaying the gorgeous patination of the silk upholstery. The carved Renaissance-style frame is in excellent condition and is detailed with a central crest and exaggerated lion paw feet. Although this is not a large sofa, it has tremendous presence and could be integrated into multiple design aesthetics.
*We are spiffing up the sofa with new down and feather cushion inserts and minor upholstery updating. Coordinating Raw Silk Tweed Pillows and Silk Tassels are on order. -
