COLLECTION OF SEVEN AQUATINT ENGRAVINGS OF HORSES AND RIDERS AFTER CARLE VERNET (1758-1836)
With good original hand colouring, framed in antique water gilt frames with wash line mounts, circa 1830

The series from Carle Vernet (1758-1836) and Horace (1789-1863). 'Recueil de chevaux de tous genres, dessinés par Carle et Horace Vernet, et gravés par Levachez'. Paris, rue St Lazare, Chaussée d'Antin, c.1811, depicts horses and riders in all forms from sporting to military to the every day. This set includes numbers 14,16, 36, 38, 39, 40 and 42.
