Description
A vintage French Louis XV-style parlor settee ("marquesa") dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, this piece is defined by its dramatic openwork pierced cartouche backrest—an asymmetric camelback silhouette divided by an intricate central splat of sweeping C‑scrolls and stylized heart motifs. Classic carvings enrich the entire frame: a prominent scalloped rocaille shell crowns the crest rail, echoed by a matching shell anchoring the wavy front apron. Long, elegant cabriole legs with acanthus‑carved knees and scroll feet support the structure. This piece measures 40"t x 50"w x 20"d with a seat height of 19".
