Rustic Brutalist Elm Enfilade, Europe - Mid-20th Century

This rustic Brutalist enfilade was made in Europe during the mid-20th century and is characterized by a robust, architectural construction in elm. Its long, low proportions are organized around four drawers above four cabinet doors, creating a restrained and strongly horizontal composition. The richly figured grain and warm, naturally varied surface of the wood remain central to its visual character.

Particularly distinctive are the sculptural wooden details, including block-like drawer pulls, projecting joinery, wooden hinges and a substantial central closure, giving the piece an almost entirely wood-built appearance. Behind the four doors, generous compartments with shelving provide practical storage while maintaining the clarity of the exterior. The combination of straightforward craftsmanship, visible construction and deliberately substantial detailing places the piece within the rustic Brutalist tradition of European mid-century furniture.
