Brazilian Modern Rocking Chair in Metal, Wicker & Green Mohair by Carlo Hauner

A sculptural Brazilian Modern rocking chair by Carlo Hauner, designed in the 1950s with a rare balance of architectural clarity, relaxed comfort, and understated luxury.

The slender satin-black metal frame is drawn as a continuous series of sweeping lines, extending from the curved rocking base into the arms and tall, gently reclined backrest. Handwoven natural wicker softens the graphic structure, adding warmth, texture, and organic rhythm while maintaining the chair’s light, open presence.

A luxurious deep green mohair seat cushion introduces exceptional softness and a subtle, luminous sheen. Shaped to follow the chair’s curved seat, the cushion provides gentle support without obscuring the elegance of the wicker construction. Its rich olive-green tone creates a sophisticated contrast with the natural cane and blackened metal.

Polished brass sabots accent the ends of the frame and rocking base. These precisely placed details bring warmth and refinement to the composition, punctuating the dark metal framework with discreet flashes of gold.

Comfort is integral to the design. The elongated backrest, low seat, curved arm supports, and measured rocking motion create an enveloping, restful sitting experience.
