Description
Originating from Saint-Véran in the Queyras, Hautes-Alpes, this 19th-century vernacular door is constructed from pine boards and decorated across its surface with a repeated pattern of finely incised intersecting lines. The resulting diamond geometry is punctuated by iron nail heads, giving the otherwise functional construction a distinctive graphic rhythm. Original hand-forged iron elements, including the decorative lock plate, latch and hinges, further express its regional craftsmanship. The warm, irregular surface bears traces of prolonged use, with variations in tone, marks and wear preserved as part of its history. All our rustic furniture has undergone a two-cycle preventive woodworm treatment for long-term care.
