19th Century Historism Nutwood Armchair With Cushion, Handcarved, AT ca. 1880

Offered by: Masterpiece Antiques

Description
Artfully crafted, late 19th century armchair, from the so-called "Historism" period in Austria around 1880. Elaborately handcarved out of solid nut wood, this very decorative baroque style armchair impresses not only with its exceptional design and handcarved details but also with the "out of the ordinary" upholstery: a fantastic looking grey woven high-qualityfabric with a beige "Africa" theme showing lions and the typical acacia trees. A real eye-catching, unusual seating piece from the late 19th century that doesn't only look great, it is also super comfortable to sit.
An additional small cushion is included - see picture #1
