Deeply influenced by the designs of the Louis XV period, the gilded elements are fabulously pierced and decorated with flowing and scrolling acanthus and foliate together with endless cyma curves and C-scrolls. A male and female putto oppose eachother on the crest of each.
Condition: Discolored gilding throughout with some blackening from placement by the fireplace. Trace regilding. Male putto is missing an element in his hand. Otherwise ready to place.
