Composite Stone Bull Dog Garden Ornament, England 1970s

Offered by: Modern Antiquarian

Description
Strong and full of personality, this English 1970s era composite stone bulldog figure sits with a proud, slightly lifted head and a sturdy, weighty posture. Facial folds, a broad muzzle, and solid front paws give it unmistakable character, while the surface shows natural aging with worn edges, speckled tone, and areas of mossy coloration that add authenticity and charm. It feels like a faithful little sentinel for the garden, porch, or interior vignette.
Bulldog-inspired figures became especially admired in the 19th and 20th centuries, when they came to represent loyalty, resilience, and steadfast companionship. Pieces like this were often placed in European and American gardens to bring warmth, presence, and a reassuring sense of devotion into thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces. Wear consistent with age and use. 5.5"w x 6"d x 8.5"h
